Belle 3-month-old cutie is full of charm and sprinkled with adorable little freckles! Her curious eyes and tiny wiggly tail are ready to explore the world, and she’s learning all the ropes of puppy life—potty training, crate time, and making friends along the way. Belle is available for foster-to-adopt now, which means you can welcome her into your home and heart while she finishes her vetting. Adoption will be finalized once she’s fully vetted, including spay and vaccines, through our Howell, NJ vet.	Pebbles a tiny powerhouse wrapped in a black & white tux, a little love comet who does everything with her whole heart. She loves fiercely, plays with gusto, & carries herself like she is training for the Ball Catching Olympics. She currently lives with foster brothers, but she is more of a polite roommate than a play buddy. Her real joys are exploring the yard & soaking in the sun. She's crate trained, housebroken, & would prefer a home without little kids & if there is another dog- the right match.	Snoops At only ~10 wks old snoops was found alone in an inner city area, underweight-likely from trying to fend for himself. Despite that he has a fun, energetic personality & is a typical puppy. He is working on crate training, housebreaking & basic structure. He is settling into everyday routine with his fosters including a resident dog, school pickups/drop ups and plenty of naps! He will thrive in a patient home that is ready for the work that comes with a puppy.
Berry Brandy is a gorgeous 50 lb pittie mix with bright white teeth & warm honey-colored eyes. Berry is now looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt home where she can finally experience comfort and consistency. She’s a lovely girl with a soft spirit and a bright future ahead. She is gentle and would make a great family member. Berry seems dog okay too.	Mac 1-year-old, 62 lb Merle Pittie mix who turns heads everywhere he goes. Mac is a friendly, intelligent young dog who’s eager to learn & full of potential. He knows sit & down, is very food motivated, & thrives with clear structure & consistency. He will benefit from a strong leader who can provide the guidance & boundaries he needs to shine. Mac did okay on his dog test, but slow introductions are recommended. No cats & older kids would be best.	Pebbles 5-year-old, 42 lb sweetheart with a petite frame & a big heart.She loves people and greets everyone with endless kisses. Pebbles is food-motivated, eager to learn, and walks beautifully on leash. Pebbles would do best as your one and only pet, where she can soak up all the love and attention she’s been waiting for.
Chessie 4-year-old brindle beauty, She’s loving, playful, and happiest when she’s leaning in for snuggles. She would do best in a home with children 10 years or older and without cats. She should avoid chew toys since she tends to get a little too excited about them, and she’ll need slow introductions with other dogs due to her high energy. She’ll thrive with someone who can provide ongoing training	Apple This 7-month-old petite beauty comes with a big personality. She’s smart, sweet, and full of playful puppy energy. Apple already knows her sit command, walks nicely on leash, and loves to learn. She’s dog-friendly and would do best with a confident canine companion who doesn’t mind a lively little sister. Apple is mostly housebroken and working on her crate manners. With a patient, committed adopter to guide her, this special girl is sure to blossom into something amazing.	Penny Penny is thriving in her foster home and is getting ready to find her forever home. She is just under a year old, is only 31 lbs and is the sweetest girl. She gives kisses, loves play time but knows how to be independent too. She is dog friendly, crate trained and housebroken. She is patiently waiting for her peeps!
Major This handsome 3–4-y.o boy was found as a stray in a NJ city, but no one ever came looking for him. He’s sweet, gentle & pretty low-key though his body shows signs of neglect, but he’s already feeling better thanks to some TLC. Major has done great at events, loves events and is always rolling over for belly rubs. He's said to be dog-friendly, but we’ll be testing further. He's in boarding while waiting for a foster or forever family.	Capri She is 2 1/2 years old and is 47 lbs. Capri is crate trained, housebroken, and quiet. She passed her temperament testing with both cats and dogs, though she currently feels safest as the only pet. She can be nervous around new people. She does come around with patience and letting her be. Capri needs a patient, experienced home willing to help rebuild trust that is adult only home.	Bella This sweet 11-year-old girl has passed all her temperament testing with flying colors! Bella is friendly, gentle, and still has some pep in her step. She’s great with older kids and doesn’t mind calm dogs who respect her age. She loves a cozy, fluffy bed and is currently in a foster home while we search for her forever family to help her enjoy her golden years in comfort and love.
Jax This guy is 5 year old Lab mix with the sweetest face & an even sweeter heart. He came in as a stray wearing a collar with his birthday on it, but no one ever came to claim him. Jax is a total lovebug who lights up when he sees his people. He enjoys walks, has great manners, & knows his basic commands. He’s a fetch pro, loves attention, & just wants to be part of a family. He’d do best in a home without cats or young kids, but he’s friendly with female dogs & eager to please.	Willow Willow is a 6 month tan pittie pup with the sweetest little face and a heart to match. She's a wonderful puppy without the chaotic puppy energy when she's alone. She knows basic commands, is house broken & crate trained. A friendly, playful male may be a great match or she could thrive alone. Training lessons are included with her adoption.	Jefe Jefe was thriving in his foster-to-adopt home, but due to an unexpected job relocation, his person has to leave the area. Jefe has come so far. He is a 4 y.o shepherd mix who loves to play & snuggle. He's dog friendly, crate trained, housebroken & knows basic commands. He's neutered, microchipped & UTD on vaccines. Going back to the kennel would be a major set back to all his progress.
Becca 6m.o cattle dog pup weighing ~25 lbs. With her sweet face & sharp mind, Becca is a gem waiting for the right person to come along.She’ll need someone experienced or knowledgeable about her breed who can give her plenty of enrichment & guidance as she grows. She does well with other dogs and, like any puppy, will benefit from crate training, housebreaking, & ongoing training to help her reach her full potential. She has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.	Lucy a 3-year-old Bagel Hound mix with the sweetest floppy ears and a big personality. She came to us through our trusted trainer at Bucks Training of Central Jersey after her former family could no longer keep her. Lucy is playful, active, affectionate, and loves toys, blankets, and snuggles. She does well with dogs her size & would do best in a home with teens and older. Lucy has a mild heart condition that our vets will continue to monitor, but it hasn’t slowed her down one bit.	Sheba Sheba is just 4 years old and came to us in heartbreaking condition—having lost nearly half her body weight in only a few months. Thanks to fast action from AHS Newark and the support of our board members, she is now safe and starting her road to recovery. She's been doing amazing in her foster home and at events loving everyone (including other dogs) that she meets. She is crate trained, housebroken & walks amazing on leash.
Gemma Gemma is a gentle 2 year old sweetie with soulful eyes and a soft nature. After months in her foster home learning to trust again, she is so ready for a forever family. Gemma loves cozy blankets, quiet naps, learning new tricks and playtime. She shines in a calm home as the only pet and thrives with patient, loving humans who understand her shy side. Give her time, love, structure and she'll reward you with unwavering companionship.	Darwin Darwin is a handsome 2 year old who is the perfect mix of calm and confident. He's blossomed in his foster home and is ready to find his forever family. He loves meeting new people, going on walks, riding in the car and doesn't mind other dogs. Smart, social and well mannered, Darwin fits right in where ever he goes. He's neutered, UTD and chipped. He is ready to bring joy and laughter to his new home.	Finn This little warrior was found in a cardboard box on 100 F day in Newark and is now showing everyone the survivor he is. He is ~8 m.o & a joy who loves everyone he meets, even other dogs! He is super smart & loves just being around his foster fam or playing with toys independently. Finn is UTD on vaccines, neutered and looking for his forever home!
Chrissy AKA Christmas is an 8 yr old senior gal who was surrendered alongside her housemate Pebbles (who we recently pulled). This sweet mama spent years being used for breeding and was then dumped when no longer "useful". At a petite size of only 47 lbs, she enjoys light walks & people watching. She will often bark with excitement when she sees you but can be timid with new people. She was indifferent to dogs/cats and would do best in a quiet, adult only home. She needs peace, patience & love.	Carson Carson is 6 years young, housetrained, non-destructive, & listens incredibly well. He is a well mannered gentleman when it comes to taking treats, food or toys. He was surrender with his housemate (Melony), but would do best as the only dog.	Nala Nala is a 2-year-old pit/lab mix who’s smart, affectionate, and full of playful energy. She’s crate trained, housebroken, and loves fetch, walks, and giving kisses. Her adoption fee is sponsored—she’s just waiting for her perfect match!
Dempsey This handsome, tall & lanky boy is looking for his forever home. He is under 2 years old and and loves his toys, food puzzles and going on walks. He is ready to be your adventure buddy as his foster parents have learned he loves the water & exploring. He is both dog & cat friendly.	DOZER This handsome boy is about 2 years old . He has been staying with one of our volunteers and is working on being the perfect pup. He is very smart and loves treats. He is super playful with typical puppy energy. Dozer loves playing catch and running around in the yard. He must be the only pet in the home and is recommended with older kids.
